Places in Photography – Images by Chris Aran
Sometimes it’s hard to describe where you’ve been or what you’ve seen. To hold on to those moments we take pictures. Whether it’s to show ourselves in front of some monument, or to show the unique sign of a small shop in a random city somewhere. We keep photos for memories. When I visit different places around the world, I don’t just want the memory, I want to capture the feel of the entire moment.
Some places are just overwhelming with a sense of presence. You can almost feel the energy surrounding what you’re looking at. Whether its a mob of people, or the way the light is revealing details about a building you’re looking at. Capturing the right moment to best represent what you’re looking at requires more than just pointing and clicking. Thats the challenge I enjoy when visiting somewhere new.
Most of the images I’ve captured with my photography is intended to be the best representations of place as possible. Whether its a massive structure, or the smallest detail of an ear of corn. Hopefully the photos resonate with you.
